If you are setting up your NETGEAR Nighthawk RAXE300 or RAXE290 WiFi 6E router for the first time, and you are connecting it to your cable modem with the Multi-Gig 2.5G/1G Ethernet port on your router, the router might not detect your cable Internet service.
With some Internet service providers (ISPs), your cable modem might fail to connect to your router from the Multi-Gig 2.5G/1G port during its first connection attempt. This problem is resolved with router firmware versions 1.0.7.62 and newer, but you might still experience the issue during first time setup.
As a workaround, when your router fails to detect your cable Internet service during setup, you can reboot your cable modem. After your modem reboots, both your modem and router should recognize each other and you can complete the setup process.
