A small number of NETGEAR WAX620 and WAX628 access points are unable to complete the firmware update process without a factory reset. If your WAX620 or WAX628 is affected by this issue, you might see the following symptoms:
- Firmware update from the Insight app or Cloud Portal: An upgrade failed message appears.
- Automatic firmware update from the device UI: A dialog box with "Firmware upgrade failure" appears after downloading the firmware image.
- Manual firmware update from the device UI: A dialog box with "Select a valid file format" appears when uploading a firmware image.
To resolve this issue, factory default your access point and update the firmware again.
