Insight's Business VPN service allows supported NETGEAR routers to securely connect over a virtual private network (VPN) from off-site branches or employee home offices to a central office. This article explains how to set up a supported NETGEAR router for Insight Business VPN in a home office.

If you do not have access to Insight, contact your IT department to set up your router.

To set up your router for Insight Business VPN:

  1. Log in to your Insight account.
  2. If you have an Insight Pro account, select an organization.
  3. Select the location of your central office.
  4. Select Router/VPN > VPN Settings.
  5. Double-click the business VPN group for your router.
  6. Click Remote Routers > + > Add New Remote Router.
  7. In the Select Location section, select the location of your home office.
  8. In the Select Router section, select your router.
    After you select your router, Insight automatically populates the Router IP Address and Router IP Subnet fields with your router's information.
  9. In the VPN Credits section, select an available business VPN credit to allocate to your router.
  10. Click the VLAN Profile slider button.
    A list of VLANs that are enabled on the remote router displays.
  11. In the VLAN section, select a VLAN for your router.
  12. In the Router Mode section, select Employee Home.
  13. (Optional) To enable router isolation on your router, click the Router Isolation slider button.
    The router isolation feature is only available for employee home routers. For more information, see What is Insight Business VPN router isolation?.
  14. (Optional) If you experience frequent VPN disconnections, click the Aggressive Keepalive slider.
  15. Click Save.
