If your Orbi WiFi 6E System is set to use access point (AP) mode with another gateway, you might need to add a firewall rule that allows your Orbi router to ping your gateway IP address. Some gateways might prevent your Orbi router from stabilizing its mesh network in AP mode by blocking IP address pings.
To resolve this issue, we recommend that you use your gateway's web interface to determine the IP addresses that your Orbi router and satellites use, and create a firewall rule that allows your gateway to receive and respond to pings from those IP addresses. For instructions about adding rules to your gateway's firewall, check the information provided by your gateway's manufacturer.
