How do I keep my free mynetgear.com Dynamic DNS host name?

A Dynamic Domain Name System (DDNS) service automatically updates the IP address information that is assigned to your domain (host) name. Whenever the IP address of your host name changes, the associated DNS server is updated. NETGEAR partners with No-IP to provide DDNS services.

Effective March 1, 2021, you must confirm your free mynetgear.com host name once every 30 days or it will be deleted.

Can I keep my free mynetgear.com host name?

Yes, mynetgear.com Dynamic DNS is still free, but you must confirm your host name every 30 days to continue using it.

What action do I need to take?

You will receive an email 7 days before your host name requires confirmation. To confirm your host name, click the confirmation link in your email. You can also use the No-IP account that you created from the router web interface to check the status of your registered host names on the No-IP website.

What happens if I don’t confirm my host name?

If you don't confirm your host name within 14 days of receiving your confirmation notice, your host name will be removed from your account and DNS and the host name will no longer resolve.

My host name was deleted. Can I get it back?

As long as your deleted host name isn't taken by someone else after it is removed from your account, you can get it back by registering the host name with No-IP again.

I want to keep my host name, but don't want to confirm it every 30 days. What can I do?

You can use the No-IP account that you created from the router web interface to upgrade to a paid No-IP Dynamic DNS service tier and remove the confirmation requirement. For more information, see No-IP's Dynamic DNS page.
