NETGEAR is aware of industry-wide WiFi WPS and IEEE-1905 security vulnerabilities on products containing MediaTek microchips.

NETGEAR is working with MediaTek and plans to release firmware updates that fix these WiFi WPS and IEEE-1905 vulnerabilities for all products that are within the security support period, which we will release as they become available.

NETGEAR strongly recommends that you download the latest firmware as soon as possible. Firmware fixes are currently available for the following affected products:

Extenders:

  • EAX11v2 fixed in firmware version 1.0.3.34
  • EAX12 fixed in firmware version 1.0.3.34
  • EX3700 fixed in firmware version 1.0.0.96
  • EX3800 fixed in firmware version 1.0.0.96
  • EX6120 fixed in firmware version 1.0.0.68
  • EX6130 fixed in firmware version 1.0.0.48
  • EX6250v2 fixed in firmware version 1.0.3.32
  • EX6400v3 fixed in firmware version 1.0.3.32
  • EX6410v2 fixed in firmware version 1.0.3.32
  • EX6470 fixed in firmware version 1.0.3.32

Wireless Access Points:

  • WAC104 fixed in firmware version 1.0.4.20
  • WAC124 fixed in firmware version 1.0.4.8
  • WAX202 fixed in firmware version 1.0.5.1
  • WAX206 fixed in firmware version 1.0.4.0
