NETGEAR is improving the security of your network by letting you know when a new device connects to your NETGEAR product. You don’t need to subscribe to any services or update the firmware for the Nighthawk or Orbi app to benefit from this feature.
After receiving the new device notification, if you don’t recognize the device, you can block the device from accessing the Internet on your network.
If you have an active Armor subscription, the new device notification gives you the option to install Bitdefender Security to protect your individual devices.
Note: If a device running iOS 14 joins your network, it might not be recognized correctly right away, even if that device has connected to your network before. It might take a minute for your NETGEAR product to recognize the device.
