The M4250 switches default 802.1AS propagation delay value is set to 2500 (nanoseconds). This default value doesn’t work for the M4250-12M2XF (MSM4214X) switch if the audio visual bridge (AVB) endpoints are directly connected to it. To troubleshoot this issue, you must change the default propagation delay to 10000.
To change the default propagation delay value for AVB operation:
- Launch a web browser.
- In the address field of your web browser, enter the IP address of the switch.
- Enter admin as the user name, enter your local device password.
- Click Login.
The first time that you log in, no password is required. However, you then must specify a local device password to use each subsequent time that you log in.
- Select Switching > 802.1AS > Advanced > 802.1AS Port Settings.
- Check mark all the interfaces.
- In the the Pdelay Threshold field, enter 10000.
- Click Apply.
Your propagation delay value is set to 10000.
Your M4250-14MX switch can now operate with AVB.
