NETGEAR'S WAX610Y is an outdoor wireless access point. Follow these guidelines when
installing your WAX610Y outside:
- Install 8 feet high or higher.
- Install away from trees and foliage.
- Install in a shaded area.
Your WAX610Y can become hot after operating for multiple days.
- Install your WAX610Y in a location near your clients.
If your clients are located far away or if the area is dense, set up more access points.
- Do not paint your WAX610Y.
After you mount the access point outdoors, make sure that you close the cover tightly so that moisture and insects cannot get inside the access point.
