If your NETGEAR Insight VPN BR500 router is not connecting to the cloud, your network administrator can use this network information to troubleshoot.
Note: Insight can’t connect to an Insight device behind a firewall.
- When you first connect, your switch operates as a DHCP client. It tries to request an IP address, a default gateway, and a DNS server address from a DHCP server.
- To connect to Insight, your device must have TCP HTTPS port 443 open.
- If your network has a DCHP server providing IP addresses to your network devices, it assigns a default IP address, gateway, and DNS server address to your Insight switch. Make sure that the assigned settings are correct.
- If your network does not have a DHCP server, the switch is assigned to default IP address 192.168.1.1. You might need to manually change your IP address, default gateway address, and DNS server to connect to the Internet.
