When you configure the NETGEAR AirBridge as a client bridge, you provide network connectivity to a single wired device that is not WiFi-capable on its own. For example, you can connect a pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera to an AirBridge client bridge. This setup does not require a line of sight between the AirBridge access point at the main site and the AirBridge client bridge. Also, the access point that the client bridge connects to can be a non-AirBridge access point.
Before making a connection between your AirBridge access point and client bridge, you must first configure their settings in the Day Zero Easy Setup. For more information, see How do I set Day Zero Easy Setup settings for my NETGEAR AirBridge?.
- Configure your Airbridge as an access point.

- Launch a web browser that is connected to the same network as the AirBridge client or directly to the AirBridge client through an Ethernet cable or WiFi connection.
- Enter the IP address of the AirBridge client.
- Enter the AirBridge client's username and local device password.
The username is admin. The local device password is the one that you created when you set up the AirBridge.The Device Status page displays.
- In the Network field , select Wireless.
The Wireless Settings page displays.
- From the Operation Mode menu, select Client
Bridge.
For more information about optional advanced settings that display on the page, such as changing the Auto RF mode (so that you can set a specific transmission power) and bit rate, see your user manual. We recommend that you do not change these advanced settings while you perform the current task.
- Under AP Detection, click Scan.
The AirBridge scans for neighboring access points. A page displays each detected access point.
- Select the access point that you configured in step 1.
- Select the preferred basic service set ID (BSSID) check box of the access
point.
The BBSID is the MAC address of the radio on the AirBridge access point that broadcasts the SSID. After you select the BSSID, in most situations, you do not need to change the detected SSID, security mode, and encryption. If the security mode is not WPA2-PSK but WPA2-Enterprise, you must enter additional information. - If the security mode is PSK, in the Passphrase field, enter the passphrase that is required to connect to the SSID.
- Click Save.
Your settings are saved to be applied later and the page closes. The Wireless Settings page displays again. A pop-up window opens showing the number of changes to be applied.
- In the Distance field, enter the distance in kilometers the access point is located.
- Click Save.
- To apply the changes now, click Apply.
Your changes are applied immediately. If the WiFi connection must be reestablished, the page displays the number of seconds before the AirBridge is back online.
