You can set up your NETGEAR AirBridge for the first time using the local browser user interface or a mobile device (without using the NETGEAR Insight app).

Do not connect the AirBridge to a network with a DHCP server if your AirBridge is connected to a network with a DHCP server, you cannot access the AirBridge at its default IP address of 192.168.0.100. The local browser UI lets you configure all AirBridge features, that are available on the AirBridge including master, satellite, access point, and client bridge operation modes. To set the Day Zero Easy Setup settings:
  1. Connect your computer or mobile device to your AirBridge's default management WiFi network.

    The default SSID is on the back of the AirBridge. In older WBC502 models, it is shown in the format NETGEARxxxxxx-SETUP, where xxxxxx is the last six hexadecimal digits of the AirBridge’s MAC address. And in the newer WBC502 models, the default SSID on the back of the AirBridge include the format NETGEARXXXSETUP_ONLY. Use the default SSID that is on your WBC502 model. The default password is sharedsecret.

  2. Open a web browser.
  3. In the address bar, enter https://192.168.0.100.

    If your browser displays a security message and does not let you proceed, see your user manual.

    The Day Zero Easy Setup page displays.

  4. Configure the displayed settings.

    After you save the basic settings, your AirBridge restarts. This process takes about one minute.
  5. After the AirBridge restarts, reconnect to the AirBridge's WiFi network using the new SSID and passphrase.
  6. In the web browser, enter https://192.168.0.100.

    A login page displays.

  7. Enter the AirBridge's username.

    The user name is admin.

  8. Enter the new local device password that you created.
  9. Read NETGEAR's Terms and Conditions and select the check box.
  10. Click Login.
The configurations for the AirBridge's Day Zero Easy Setup settings are configured.
