Note:
- If updating from firmware version 1.0.0.6 or earlier, then this update will include a chipset driver update that takes 8-10 minutes. Do not interrupt the update process during this time. The switch will reboot automatically after the update completes.
- After downloading FW v1.0.1.1 to the switch, regardless of the current password, the switch’s password resets to the default. This helps address bug #2 in the Bug Fixes section.
New Features and Modifications:
- The default admin password must be changed to a unique password during the first login.
- NSDP (System > Management > Discovery and Management) is now separated into NSDP Discovery and NSDP Management. NSDP Discovery is enabled, and NSDP Management is disabled, by default.

Bug Fixes:
- When loop happens, loop prevention will shut down the port forever. The port will not recover even after the loop no longer exists.
- We introduce a new encryption algorithm for the password to ensure the password saved in the configuration file is more secure.

- After XS724EM is upgraded to firmware version V1.0.0.8, it cannot work with Plus Utility version prior to V2.7.2. Please download the latest Plus Utility from http://www.netgear.com/support/product/PCU
