Factors that determine your protection level include the following:
- Password protection and password strength of your WiFi networks (whether your WiFi network is password-protected and has a strong, unique password)
- Password protection and password strength of your router (whether your router administrator password is strong and unique)
- Guest network status (whether you have a guest WiFi network set up and using a strong, unique password)
- Firmware status of your router (whether your firmware is up to date)
- Number of connected devices with Bitdefender Security local device protection installed.

You receive security recommendations based on your protection level. These recommendations inform you about basic network security and suggest actions that you can take to increase your protection level.
For example, you might receive a security recommendation about not using default login credentials for your WiFi network. To increase your protection level, set a new password for your WiFi network. Actions like updating to the latest firmware or setting up a guest network are other ways to increase your protection level.
