Bug Fixes
- Fixes issue when OIDs set value failed for POWER-ETHERNT-MIB and NETGEAR-POWER-ETHERNET-MIB.
- Fixes issue where VRRP IP addresses occasionally fail to ping when a stack switch acting as VRRP master is rebooted.
- Removes the default SNMP community configuration on both v11.0.0.x and v10.0.2.x.
- Fixes issue where IP address configured via network commands attaches messages to logs instead of VLAN routing IP address.
- Fixes issue where the switch loses PBR configuration and hangs when executing the 'clear arp-cache' command on the console port.
- Fixes issue where the switch reboots itself due to LOG_ERROR.
- Fixes issue where the switch should forward BPDU packet with VLAN tag when the port has 802.1Q VLAN tag setting.
- Fixes packet loss / connection drops due to 'Timeout to CPU' and 'Out of memory' errors in the logs.
- Fixes switch crashes in DNS task when setting invalid file descriptor value.
- Fixes issue where switch 'unit number' and 'priority' are not erased when executing the 'erase stack-config' command.
- Fixes PoE timer schedule to allow time ranges such as '22:00 to 00:00' to be set in local browser interface.
- Fixes new Flash memory replacement issue where the switch cannot work properly.
- In the Web GUI, show "Down ports" in place of "Active Ports" for LAG interfaces.
Known Issues:
- While 10.0.0 supports both M5300 and older GSM73xxSv1h2 so that the two series can stack together, the new 11.0.0 does not support mixed stacks, only homogenous M5300 model stacks.
- If the network is configured to use DHCP mode on the previous version, after it upgrades to 11.0, the network interface protocol mode will change to ‘none’, the IP is set to ‘0.0.0.0', and DHCP mode is enabled on the management VLAN instead.
- M5300 only supports IPv6 management on management VLAN if the L3 license (routing and multicast) is installed.
- Auto-install is unable to apply a configuration file if the startup-config file contains commands for the network interface, which are not supported on 11.0.
- If ports are configured as protected ports, routing mode cannot be configured on the VLAN that has these protected ports.
- SDM changes on M5300:
- Maximum number of allowed VLANs changed from 4K to 1K in the default SDM (dual-ipv4-and-ipv6 data-center-enterprise) mode. If M5300 with 10.0.0 firmware has more than 1K VLAN, update from 10.0 to 11.0 removes all configured VLANs. Workaround: Manually reconfigure VLANs after the update.
- The 4K VLAN is retained in SDM “Dual-ipv4-and-ipv6 enterprise” mode and “Ipv4-routing enterprise” mode.
- When using the SDM with multicast, the following features are not supported. Workaround: Use other SDM template.
- IP Source Guard
- DHCP Snooping
- Dynamic ARP Inspection
- PVST/PVST+ in M5300 only supports VLAN ID range from 1 to 1024. Workaround: If you enable PVST, make sure all VLAN IDs are in the range of 1 to 1024.

Firmware Update Instructions:
Important:
- Firmware downgrade on M5300 switches is not supported. When you update to 11.0.0.37, we highly recommended that you copy 11.0.0.37 onto both active and backup images. Upgrading only one of the images may cause undesirable behavior while moving between the images.
- 10.0.0.53 firmware is a prerequisite for updating to 11.0.
- This firmware will not work on a mixed stack of M5300 and non-M5300 switches. If you are updating a stack, please be advised that this firmware only applies to the M5300 series.
To update your product’s firmware, follow the instructions in your product’s user manual. To find your user manual, visit https://www.netgear.com/support/, enter your model number in the search box, and click the Documentation button on the product page.
