In an effort to provide customers with new and relevant features like cybersecurity services and smart parental controls, NETGEAR is phasing out the following legacy features with low user numbers:
- iTunes Server
- Photosharing (Kwilt)
- Time Machine Backup
- TiVo support for media sharing
- Downloader (Beta)
- DLNA (R7000 only)
- ReadyCLOUD
This change allows us to make newer, more popular products and services available to you.
If you want to continue using these legacy features, disable automatic firmware updates on your router and do not upgrade to the firmware version in the following table, or any future firmware versions. For more information about automatic updates, see How do I enable/disable auto firmware update?.
ReadyCLOUD support is being removed from WiFi router web interfaces via firmware update, and affects more models than those listed in the following table. Because the cloud service required for ReadyCLOUD functionality is being shut down, the ReadyCLOUD feature cannot be used even if you install older router firmware that supports it. For more information, see Support for ReadyCLOUD feature ends spring 2023.
Refer to the following table for an updated list of affected routers.
