At times, antivirus software may detect false positives. A false positive is a file that the antivirus software thinks is harmful when it is in fact safe.
If the antivirus software on your ReadyNAS detects what you believe to be a false positive, make sure that the antivirus definition files are up to date. Next, make sure that the suspect file is in fact safe. Once it is deemed a safe file, you may report the false positive to the ClamAV team to re-categorize the file in the virus definition tables.
ReadyNAS uses ClamAV as the antivirus software. NETGEAR does not provide virus definitions files. False positives need to be reported to ClamAV at https://www.clamav.net/reports/fp
