With metadata tiering, your ReadyNAS will migrate metadata from spindle to SSD tiers, then overflow back to spindle tiers when the SSD tier reaches capacity.
With data tiering, no, your ReadyNAS will not cache data to the SSD tier. Data tiering only stores freshly written data to the SSD tier.
