The Meural currently supports the following video and image formats: .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .bmp, .gif, .mp4, .mov, and .heic (iOS Live Photos).
The Meural can read 4k video files.
While the Meural supports .mp4 and .mov formats, smaller formats in H.264 and MPEG4 encoding such as .gif tend to run better.
The time it takes to process a .gif depends on image dimensions and number of frames.
File recommendations
Dimensions for images in either vertical or horizonal orientation:
- For vertical images: 9:16 ratio, cropped to fit 1080 x 1920
- For horizontal images: 16:9 ratio, cropped to fit 1920 x 1080
Video frame rates and bit rates:
- 15 frames per second (fps) with a bit rate of up to 10 Mbps.
Number of frames per .gif file:

For .gif files with dimensions around 1920 x 1080, fewer than 90 total frames.

For .gif files with smaller dimensions, fewer than 200 total frames.
