The WAC540 wireless access point has 2 LAN ports which can form a static link aggregation group (LAG). This allows for a single 2Gb/s connection for better performance, or a 1Gb/s redundant connection. This feature is turned on by default, but you can turn it off.

To avoid creating a network loop, before you connect both WAC540 Ethernet ports to the switch to make a link aggregation group, set up a static LAG on the switch ports in the switch's local browser interface. For more information about how to do this, refer to your product's user manual.

To turn link aggregation on or off for your wireless access point:

  1. On a computer that is connected to your wireless access point with an Ethernet cable or is on the same subnet, open a web broswer, such as Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Safari.
  2. Enter your wireless access point's IP address in the address bar of your browser and press Enter.The default IP address for your WAC540 is 192.168.0.100.
  3. Sign in with your user name and password.The default user name is admin. The default password is password. If you added this device to an Insight location, use the admin password for the location instead.
  4. Select Management > Configuration > System > Advanced.
  5. Select LAG.
  6. Select Enable or Disable and click the Apply button.
