New Features and Enhancements:
- Support for NETGEAR® Insight Managed Smart Cloud Tri-Band 4x4 Wireless Access Point. The salient feature of the new Access Point includes:
- AC3000 – Wave 2
- Tri band: one 2x2 2.4 GHz Radio, one 2x2 5GHz Radio and one 4x4 5GHz Radio
- 600 concurrent Client connections ( 200 clients per radio)
- Beamforming
- Multi user MIMO
- Two Gigabit Ethernet Ports with Link Aggregation (LAG) Support
- POE+ (802.3at) powered
- Advanced features added with this release include:
- Instant Wi-Fi: This feature help the Access Point to monitor and adapt to changes in the wireless environment to provide better Wi-Fi experience to the user. Instant Wi-Fi computes the best operating channels and transmit power for the radios of the Access Point.
- IEEE 802.11v (Wireless Network Management) Support: WNM feature enables Access Point and Wi-Fi clients to exchange information for the purpose of improving the overall performance of the wireless network. WNM protocols provide a means for clients to be aware of the presence of collocated interference, and enable clients to manage RF parameters based on network conditions.
- ATF (Air Time Fairness): ATF feature primarily focuses on scheduling fair transmission of traffic from Access Point to clients. The traditional quality of service was based on transmit bandwidth which causes poor services to high speed clients in presence of legacy devices as they consume more airtime for a given data bandwidth. ATF ensures efficient Wi-Fi bandwidth utilization when various types of Wi-Fi clients ranging from Legacy clients to the latest 11ac clients are connected to Access Point.
- Enhanced Band Steering and Load Balancing: helps clients connect to less loaded radio or to the radio with better throughput capabilities.
Known Issues:
- While using the Facebook Wi-Fi feature, some iOS devises and Android devices might not automatically display the Facebook Authentication page. The user must launch the web browser to display the Facebook Authentication page.
- The user might need to clear the web browser cache to get the latest web management interface changes after updating to a newer firmware version.

If the Access Point is connected to the Insight cloud, perform a firmware update through the firmware schedule policy, or perform a manual device firmware update using the Insight app or local web GUI.
After updating to the latest firmware, make sure to update to the latest version of the NETGEAR Insight app for the best functionality and user experience.
