Customize Instant Wi-Fi Using the Insight App

Instant WiFi allows your WiFi network to automatically calculate and select the best channel and output power for each access point on your network. You can schedule Instant WiFi periods to maintain the best settings for each access point, or let them trigger Instant WiFi based on network conditions.

You must have at least one WiFi network active in a location to adjust Instant WiFi settings.

To customize your location's Instant WiFi settings in the Insight app:

  1. Launch the NETGEAR Insight app.
  2. If you are an Insight Pro user with access to more than one organization, select your organization.
  3. If you set up more than one location in Insight, at the top of the page, select your location.
  4. At the bottom, tap Locations.
  5. Tap WiFi.
  6. Tap Instant WiFi.The Instant WiFi settings page appears.
  7. Optional: Turn Auto Channel Selection and Auto Tx Power Selection on or off.
  8. To automatially select the best channel and power, tap the Optimize Now button.
  9. Tap Ok.
