Setting your router’s backhaul connection to high band increases throughput. This setting also enables you to place your router and extender further apart with no decrease in network strength.
To set your NETGEAR router’s 5 GHz backhaul connection to high band:
- Launch a web browser from a computer or mobile device that is connected to your router’s network.
- Enter http://www.routerlogin.net.
A login window opens. - Enter the router user name and password.
The user name is admin. The default password is password. The user name and password are case-sensitive.
The BASIC Home page displays. - Select Wireless.
- In the Wireless Network (5GHz 802.11a/n/ac/ax) section, select a channel between 100 and 140.
