The Nighthawk XR700 has a 10-Gigabit enhanced small form-factor pluggable (SFP+) port built in. This port enables you to create your own private 10G network with your Nighthawk SX10 Gaming Switch.
To create a 10G network with your XR700 router and SX10 Gaming Switch:
- Insert an SFP+ module that converts 10-Gigabit Optical port into 10GBase-T.
Note: 10GBase-T is an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) standard that provides 10 Gbps connections.
Note: NETGEAR sells an SFP+ module that is compatible with your XR700 router. For more information, see the AXM765 product page: https://www.netgear.com/business/products/switches/modules-accessories/axm765.aspx.
- Connect your Nighthawk SX10 Gaming Switch to a power source.
- Insert one end of a Category 6A (Cat 6A) or higher-rated Ethernet cable in RJ-45 port into the SFP+ module.
- Insert the other end of the Cat 6A cable into either port 1 or port 2 of your SX10 Gaming Switch.
