New Features and Changes:
- In addition to English, WEB GUI can now be displayed in German (Deutsch) or Japanese.
- Change the followings to the VLAN feature:
- Add basic port-based VLAN.
- Remove PVID setting from basic 802.1Q VLAN.
- Add advanced 802.1Q VLAN.
- Add access control list.
Known Issues and Limitations:
- Cable test does not work properly on multi-gig ports (port 9 and port 10) when no cable is connected or if the length is less than 5 meters.
- Once v1.7.0.7 (or newer version) is downgraded to device running with v1.0.0.5 or v1.0.0.1 firmware, VLAN configuration settings will be reset.
Upgrade Procedure:
Using Computer with Microsoft Windows Operating System
- Download the new firmware GS810EMX_V1.7.0.7 from NETGEAR product support Website and store it in local PC. Unzip it to get the switch firmware image.
- Connect your computer to the same network as your SX10 (GS810EMX) switch.
- Open Windows Explorer, click the Network link.
- Select “Nighthawk SX10” switch on which you want to upgrade the firmware.
- Double-click Nighthawk SX10. The login page of the management interface opens.
- Enter the switch’s password in the password field. (The default password is password.)
- Select SETTINGS > Firmware. The Firmware Upgrade page displays.
- Click the file browser icon to locate and select the firmware file GS810EMX_V1.7.0.7.image on your PC.
- Click the UPLOAD button.
Warning: Do not interrupt the network connection while in progress. Do not disconnect the Ethernet cable or power off the unit until the process is complete. - Once the new firmware is successfully loaded (onto the switch), your SX10 will automatically reboot itself.
Using Apple MAC Devices
- Download the new firmware GS810EMX_V1.7.0.7 from NETGEAR product support Website and store it in local PC. Unzip it to get the switch firmware image.
- Find the SX10 MAC address from the label on the bottom of SX10 (GS810EMX).
- Using an Ethernet cable, connect the SX10 to the router to which your Apple MAC is connected.
- Turn on the power to the SX10.
- Find the IP address corresponding to the MAC address of your SX10 from your router's DHCP server or attached device table.
- Access to your SX10 switch using a web browser by entering its IP address in the address bar.
- Enter the switch’s password in the password field. (The default password is password.)
- Select SETTINGS > Firmware.
- Click the file browser icon to locate and select the firmware file GS810EMX_V1.7.0.7.image on your local desktop.
- Click the UPLOAD button.
