To change your user interface to a language other than English:
- Connect your computer to the same network as the switch. You can use a WiFi or wired network connection, or connect directly to a switch that is off-network using an Ethernet cable.
- Visit NETGEAR Support in your web browser.
- (Optional) Select your preferred language from the drop-down menu at the upper right of the page.
- Start typing your model number in the search box, then select your model from the drop-down menu as soon as it appears.
If you do not see a drop-down menu, make sure that you entered your model number correctly, or select a product category to browse for your product model. - Click Downloads.
- Under Current Versions, select the download whose title begins with Firmware Version and click Download.
- Read the firmware release notes.
- If the firmware download is zipped, unzip the downloaded file to extract the switch firmware image.
- If you know your switch’s IP address, enter it in your browser’s address bar and skip to Step 16.
- From the Downloads section of your product support page, download and install the NETGEAR Switch Discovery Tool.
- Launch the NETGEAR Switch Discovery Tool.
- If your computer is connected to multiple networks or has multiple connection types, select a connection to search on.
- Click Start Searching.
- Select the switch that you want to upgrade firmware for.
If you do not see the switch at first, try closing and relaunching the NETGEAR Switch Discovery Tool, or try connecting the switch to your computer directly with an Ethernet cable. - Click ADMIN PAGE.
- Enter the switch’s password in the password field.
The switch’s default password is password.
The Switch Status page displays. - If the firmware release notes specify that you must reconfigure the switch, save the switch configuration settings.
- Select System > Maintenance > Firmware Upgrade.
- Click the BROWSE button, locate and select the firmware file, and click the APPLY button.
When the upgrade is complete, your switch restarts. The upgrade process typically takes about three minutes.
To avoid the risk of corrupting the firmware, do not interrupt the network connection or power to the switch, or refresh or close the browser window during this process. Do not disconnect any Ethernet cables or power off the switch until the process is complete.
- In your web browser, enter your switch’s IP address in the address bar.
- Log in to your switch again.
- In the upper right corner of the page, select the appropriate language from the drop-down menu.
The default language is English. - Click YES in the dialog box to confirm that you want to change the user interface language.
The user interface changes to the language that you selected.
