If you use the NETGEAR Nighthawk or Orbi app on your mobile device, and the app can’t detect your NETGEAR or Orbi device, the app might display a “router not found” or “Internet not connected” message. A few common situations can cause this problem:
Your equipment needs a power cycle
Whenever you experience network problems, we recommend that you power cycle (restart) your mobile device, your modem, and your router. Power cycling your equipment might be all that’s needed to resolve your network problems. For more information, see How do I power cycle or reboot my NETGEAR router?
Your mobile device is connected to its cellular data network instead of your WiFi
Make sure that your mobile device is connected to your NETGEAR or Orbi WiFi network. If your mobile device is connected to its cellular data network instead of your WiFi network, it can’t detect your router unless Anywhere Access is enabled. On some devices, you might have to temporarily disable cellular data to force the device to use WiFi. For more information, see the following articles:

Your router is set up with an incorrect Internet service provider (ISP) connection type
If your NETGEAR or Orbi router can’t connect to the internet, your ISP might require a specific connection type configuration for your router to work properly. For more information, see I’m getting an Internet not connected error when I try to install my NETGEAR router using the Nighthawk or Orbi app; what do I do?
Your router is set up in access point (AP) mode instead of router mode
On some router models, you cannot use the Nighthawk or Orbi app to manage the router when AP mode is enabled. For more information, see the following articles:
