NETGEAR regularly releases new firmware versions to improve product performance and add new features. Follow the steps below to update your extender’s firmware.

To update the firmware on your NETGEAR WiFi Range Extender:
- Launch a web browser from a computer or mobile device that is connected to your extender’s network.
Note: Your router and extender might have different WiFi network names (SSIDs). Verify that you are connected to your extender’s network. - Log in to your extender.
For more information, see How do I log in to my NETGEAR WiFi Range Extender?. - If your browser displays the Menu icon, click it.
The extender menu displays. - Access the firmware update page:
- On most models, select Settings > Firmware Update.
- If you do not see that option, select Maintenance > Firmware Upgrade.
- Click Check Online or Check.
Note: The label varies by extender. - If new firmware is available, follow the onscreen prompts to update the firmware.
