Netgear has discovered a potential issue with XR500 graphical user interface effecting a small number of XR500 units. Please note that this issue will not occur if the XR500 firmware is upgraded to 2.1.0.4 during the initial installation of the product. Furthermore, if you have not updated your XR500 firmware and are receiving the error message "R-app is not loaded yet. Please try again in a minute" after completing the welcome setup on your XR500 Gaming Router, please follow one of the two methods below to fix this issue.
To fix the R-app is not loaded yet. Please try again in a minute error:
Method 1:
- Locate the Reset Button on the back of your XR500 router.
- Using a paper clip or a similar object press and hold the reset button for at least 20 to 30 seconds
- Once the factory reset is complete open up your web browser and go to http:\\routerlogin.net then follow the onscreen instructions to set it up.
- Once you get to the firmware update screen during setup make sure to install the firmware 2.1.0.4 update. Do not power the device off during firmware update process.
- Once the firmware update has been completed your XR500 will return to a fully functional state.
Method 2:
- Download the XR500 firmware 2.1.0.4 from http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/XR500/XR500-V2.1.0.4.zip
- Open up the XR500-V2.1.0.4.zip file and extract the .img file to your desktop.
- Open up your web browser and go to http://192.168.1.1/adv_index.htm or http://routerlogin.net/adv_index.htm and log in using your admin username and password.
- Click Settings --> Administration --> Firmware Upgrade page.
- Click Browser button and locate the firmware image file on your desktop.
- Click the Upload button and wait for the update process to finish.
- After the upgrade has completed, please wait for 3 - 5 minutes to give enough time for the new version to complete installation. Once the firmware has been updated your XR500 will become fully operational again.
