If your ReadyNAS has internet access, the easiest update option is the Remote firmware upgrade.
If your ReadyNAS does not have internet access, the easiest update option is the Local firmware upgrade.
The update processes only updates the firmware image and does not modify your data.
Updating your ReadyNAS via the Remote option:
- Navigate to the ReadyNAS Dashboard.
- Select Configure > System > Settings, and click Update to expand that section.
- Select the Check for Update button.
- If a newer firmware is available, you are prompted to update the system. Click the Perform System Update button.
- Restart your ReadyNAS to apply the update.
Updating your ReadyNAS via the Local option:
- Go to the support page for your ReadyNAS and click Downloads.
- Download the RAIDiator firmware for your ReadyNAS to a computer that is local to the ReadyNAS.
- Navigate to the ReadyNAS Dashboard.
- Select Configure > System > Settings, and click Update to expand that section.
- Click the Install Firmware button.
- Click the Browse button, then browse to the firmware you downloaded from the support page. Click the Open button to confirm.
- Click the Upload button.
- Click the Install button to apply the firmware.
- Restart your ReadyNAS to apply the update.
