Note: The genie app is no longer receiving feature updates. If your product is supported by the Nighthawk or Orbi app, you will be prompted to download that app the next time that you open genie. If your product is not supported by the Nighthawk or Orbi app, you can continue using the genie app.

NETGEAR Genie app allows you to connect your Android and iOS devices to your router’s WiFi using the QR code shown with the app. This feature is available on Android and iOS devices on iOS 11 and above.
To connect your device to your network using the QR code:
- Open the NETGEAR Genie app on your mobile device
- Tap WiFi icon.
- Enter the router’s user name and password if prompted. The default user name is admin and default password is password.
- Your wireless settings will appear along with the QR code at the bottom.
- Scan the QR code from your mobile device to connect to your network.
- Tap Join.
