NETGEAR regularly releases new firmware versions to improve product performance and add new features. Follow these steps to update the firmware on your mesh or Nighthawk mesh WiFi extender.

To update the firmware on your Mesh or Nighthawk Mesh WiFi Extender:
- Launch a web browser from a computer or mobile device that is connected to your extender’s network.
Note: Your router and extender might have different WiFi network names (SSIDs). Verify that you are connected to your extender’s network. - Log in to your extender.
For more information, see How do I log in to my WiFi Mesh Extender or Nighthawk Mesh Extender? - If your browser displays the Menu icon, click it.
The extender menu displays. - Select Settings > Firmware Update.
The Firmware Update page displays. - Click Check Online.
- If new firmware is available, follow the onscreen instructions to update your extender’s firmware.
