After you set up your WiFi mesh or Nighthawk mesh extender, you can log in to the extender to view and change the settings.
If you have not installed and connected your extender to your existing WiFi network, visit NETGEAR Support and download your model’s quick start guide before continuing.
Verify that your model is tagged under the “This article applies to:” section. If you do not own a WiFi mesh or Nighthawk mesh extender, see How do I log in to my NETGEAR WiFi Range Extender?.
To log into your WiFi mesh or Nighthawk mesh extender:
- Launch a web browser from a computer or mobile device that is connected to your extender’s network.
Popular web browsers include Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and Google Chrome.
Note: Your router and extender might have different WiFi network names (SSIDs). Verify that you are connected to your extender’s network. - If you did not enable the One WiFi Name feature, type www.mywifiext.com into the address field of your web browser.
- If you enabled the One WiFi Name feature, type one of the following URLs into the address field of your web browser:
- Windows-based computers. http://mywifiext or http://mywifiext.local
- Mac computers, iOS devices, and Linux devices. http://mywifiext.local
- Android devices. http://<extender’s IP address> (for example, http://192.168.1.3).

A login page displays.
For troubleshooting assistance, see I can’t access www.mywifiext.net; what do I do?. - Enter your admin user name and password.
Note: Your user name might be an email address.
If you forgot your user name and password, click the Username & Password Help link.
To reset your login credentials, see How do I perform a factory reset on my NETGEAR range extender?. - Click or tap LOG IN.
The Status page displays. - If your browser displays the Menu icon, click or tap it.
The extender menu displays. - Select Settings to view and adjust your extender’s settings.
