NETGEAR is aware of an outdated version of PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor), version 5.2.3, that is present in the firmware of some ProSAFE wireless access points. The outdated version of PHP is vulnerable to several security exploits, including buffer overflows, denial of service attacks, authentication bypass, SQL injection, and remote code execution. Several of these vulnerabilities can be exploited by clients that have associated with the access point or by individuals who have access to the local area network (LAN) to which the access point is connected, either locally or remotely.
These vulnerabilities affect the following products:
- WNDAP660, firmware version 3.5.23.0 and earlier
- WNDAP360, firmware version 3.5.23.0 and earlier
- WNDAP350, firmware version 3.5.23.0 and earlier
- WNAP320, firmware version 3.5.23.0 and earlier
- WNAP210v2, firmware version 3.5.23.0 and earlier
- WNDAP620, firmware version 2.0.15 and earlier
- WND930, firmware version 2.0.16 and earlier
- WAC120, firmware version 2.0.9 and earlier
Firmware fixes that include PHP version 5.6.27 are currently available for all affected products. NETGEAR strongly recommends that all affected users download the firmware fix for their product as soon as possible.
