To access your switch, you must know your switch’s password and IP address. If you followed the setup instructions in your installation guide, in your user manual, or in an article on the NETGEAR knowledge base, you wrote down or bookmarked your switch’s IP address for easy access.
To access your Nighthawk Switch using the IP address and password:
- Open a web browser on a computer or mobile device that is connected to the same Internet network as your Nighthawk Switch.
- Click the bookmark that you saved during setup or enter your switch’s IP address in the address bar and press Enter.
- Enter your password on the login page and press Enter.
The switch’s home page displays.
To access your Nighthawk Switch when you are missing the IP address, the password, or both:
If you do not know your IP address, but you know your password, you can try to log in using the default IP address, which is 192.168.0.239. You can also identify the switch’s IP address using an IP scanning application or Windows Network discovery, then follow the steps in the previous section. Otherwise, you must reset the switch to factory default settings to access it. If you know your IP address but do not know your password, you can try to log in using the default password, which is password. If you changed your password, then you must reset the switch to factory default settings to access it.
If you do not know your switch’s IP address or password, you must reset the switch to factory default settings to access it.
