To check for new firmware and update your router:
- Launch a web browser from a computer or WiFi device that is connected to the network.
Note: We recommend that you use an Ethernet cable to connect your computer to your router to update the firmware. - Enter http://www.routerlogin.net.
- Enter the router user name and password.
Note: The user name is admin, and the default password is password. The user name and password are case-sensitive. - Select ADVANCED > Administration.
- Click the Firmware Update or Router Update button.
The button label varies by router. - Click the Check button.
Note: The router looks for new firmware information; if any is available it displays a message asking if you want to download and install it. - Click the Yes button.
The router downloads the firmware and begins the update.
WARNING: To avoid the risk of corrupting the firmware, do not interrupt the update. For example, do not close the browser, click a link, or load a new page. Do not turn off the router.
When the upload is complete, your router restarts. The update process typically takes about three to five minutes. Read the new firmware release notes to determine if you need to reconfigure the router after updating the firmware.
