If your Insight Managed device has a status such as “Waiting for first connect,” “Waiting to connect,” “Device is disconnected,” or “Partially connected,” then try the following troubleshooting steps:
- Make sure that your device is powered on.
- If your device uses Power over Ethernet (PoE) for power, make sure that your power sourcing equipment (PSE) provides enough power. For more information about PoE, see What is PoE? (Power over Ethernet).
- Make sure that your device is connected to a network that has Internet access. If your device must be connected to a particular port on your switch or router to have Internet access, make sure that your device is connected to the correct switch or router port.
- If your network has a firewall, make sure that your firewall's settings do not prevent access to Insight cloud services. For more information about which URLs and ports are required for access to Insight cloud services, see Ports and DNS records for connection to Insight cloud.
- Verify that your device is in Insight management mode. For more information, see Why can’t I monitor or manage my Insight Managed switch or access point in Insight ?.
- Make sure that NTP is configured correctly to ensure the date and time are correct on your device. For more information on checking the date and time, see your device's user manual at https://www.netgear.com/support/.
- Manually update the firmware on your device. You can find the latest firmware for your device at https://www.netgear.com/support/. For more information about how to update your device's firmware, see your device's user manual.
- Reset your device to factory settings. For more information, see your device's user manual.
